Tacloban City – As part of its initiative to continually improve the delivery of its services to the Filipino trainee-seafarers, the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) through the Maritime Training and Assessment Division (MTAD) facilitated the Director’s Hour/Trainees’ Orientation held at the NMP Training Building last 09 November 2021.

This activity endeavors to apprise the seafarer trainees on the actions taken by the institution on the issues and concerns gathered through the feedback forms generated by the frontline offices of NMP and from the Post Training Evaluation (PTE) administered to trainees during their theoretical assessment through the Computer-Based Assessment System (CBAS).

The trainee-participants were likewise given the opportunity to raise other concerns and queries which were not captured in the aforementioned methods. The same were also properly addressed by the concerned officers present in the said event.

NMP Executive Director Joel B. Maglunsod emphasized the need to constantly follow the health and safety protocols and other precautionary measures imposed to trainees of the face-to-face mode of trainings, to assure them of their safety inside the NMP premises. Some of these protocols include the presentation of Barangay Health Certificate, original hard copy of COVID19 RT-PCR (swab test)/rapid antigen test/saliva test with negative result effective within 72 hours prior to entry to NMP, and the proper wearing of facemask and face shield.
