NMP Regular Employees, Job Order Workers and Guest trainers receiving plaques and certificates for the years of continuous service to the agency.

TACLOBAN CITY – Ever mindful of the significant contributions of its personnel in the attainment of its programs, projects and activities, the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) honored its dedicated employees in a simple yet meaningful Loyalty Awarding Ceremony held on 03 May 2021 at the NMP Training Building Annex, Cabalawan, Tacloban City.

“All of NMP’s accomplishments were ascribed to the devotion and collaborative efforts & contribution of all NMP employees, both past and present, to effectively and efficiently serve its clientele – the Filipino seafarers,” NMP Executive Director Joel B. Maglunsod said in his Welcome Message.

He likewise extended his gratefulness to the unfailing support of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) together with the NMP’s key industry partners.

The employees who were recognized for their continuous and satisfactory services were: Mesdames Algie V. Oliva and Monette A. Forosuelo for 15 years of service, Ms. Porferia A. Mazo for 30 years of service, and Mesdames Grace Marie T. Ayaso, Peňafiel Flor M. Legua, Agnes G. Panes and Sol Marilou Q. Pilapil for 35 years of service.

The conferment of the loyalty awards is pursuant to NMP’s Program on Awards and Incentive for Service Excellence (PRAISE) which provides for a grant of the awards to employees who have rendered a minimum of ten (10) years of service and a multiple or five (5) years of service thereafter in the Agency which comes with a cash incentive in the amount of P 1,000 per year subject to the existing CSC policies and availability of funds.

Also, five (5) Job Order Workers and twelve (12) Guest Lecturers were given Certificate of Appreciation for sharing with the Agency their unselfish and untiring services that contributed to the achievement of goals and objectives.

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Oliva expressed in her speech: “I feel very honored to not only receive this award but also to work in a workplace where there are so many opportunities. Thank you NMP for all the learnings you have taught me, opportunities you have given me from the various work assignments, challenges up to official travel experiences within the region and outside Region 8. I’m looking forward to another 15 or more years serving my beloved NMP.”.

The ceremony concluded with words from NMP’s Deputy Executive Director, Mayla N. Macadawan as she emphasized the need for NMP to continue to provide quality trainings and relevant researches with the use of technological innovations
