Tacloban City – In a shared commitment to promote a greener and more welcoming workplace, the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP), through its Committee on Landscaping and Beautification chaired by Ms. Ma. Chona B. Rama, has partnered with the National Maritime Polytechnic Services Association (NMPSA) to enhance the indoor environment of its facilities.

As part of this effort, A&B Multi-Serve Janitorial Services generously donated a variety of indoor plants to NMPSA, which were then provided to the NMP Landscaping and beautification committee. These plants have been strategically placed in key office areas to improve the overall aesthetic and create a more pleasant and people-friendly atmosphere within the NMP premises. This marks the initial phase of a broader initiative aimed at fostering a more inclusive, people-friendly, and visually appealing environment for employees, trainees, and visitors alike.

“This collaborative project is a reflection of the shared commitment of NMP management and NMPSA to create a workplace that is not only functional but also welcoming and vibrant,” said the NMP Executive Director Victor A. Del Rosario. “We believe that a greener, more pleasant environment contributes positively to productivity, well-being, and the overall training experience at NMP.”

The landscaping improvements, spearheaded by the committee and supported by NMPSA members, represent a small but meaningful step toward transforming NMP into a more inviting space — reinforcing the institution’s goal of maintaining a healthy, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing work and training environment.

Further developments are expected in the coming months, with plans to expand the beautification project across more areas of the NMP facility.
