The National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) is committed to protect the privacy rights of individuals on personal information pursuant to Republic Act 10173 otherwise known as the “Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012”, its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), and other relevant policies, including issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

It is the policy of NMP to respect and uphold the data privacy rights and to ensure that all data collected from its officials, personnel, trainees and other third party individuals are processed pursuant to the general principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality as stated in the DPA.

Personal data collected shall be used by the agency solely for reportorial, research and documentation purposes. In all this, the individual is not deemed identified as the data shall be presented in statistics form. The agency shall ensure no manipulation of personal data and that the same shall not be used against any individual (Data Subject).

Protection Measures:

The NMP ensures that personal data under its custody are protected against any accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration and disclosure as well as against any other unlawful processing. It implements appropriate security measures in storing collected personal information, considering the nature of the information.
