TACLOBAN CITY – In a proactive effort to bolster the safety and response capabilities of law enforcement personnel, the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) has partnered with the Philippine National Police (PNP) 805th Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8 for a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) training session.

Situated in Barangay 97, Cabalawan, Tacloban City, the PNP 805th Maneuver Company is entrusted with conducting relentless counter-insurgency operations against local terrorists and providing support to the territorial police, including local executives, in maintaining law and order.

Recognizing their indispensable role in upholding community peace, NMP readily embraced the opportunity to support the PNP’s initiatives by fulfilling their request and providing essential life-saving skills training.

On April 10, 2024, eighteen (18) PNP personnel underwent the rigorous BLS training at the NMP Annex Building, NMP Complex, Tacloban City, under the guidance of NMP instructor, Mr. Leobee N. Mendoza, RN. The session was designed to equip participants with the knowledge and techniques necessary to effectively respond to medical emergencies, including practical exercises and simulations aimed at enhancing their confidence and competence in handling critical situations.

The successful completion of the BLS training marks a significant milestone in the partnership between NMP and the PNP, underscoring joint dedication in promoting safety and preparedness within the community. Through collaborative efforts, they aim to fortify the overall resilience and response capabilities of law enforcement personnel, thereby contributing to safer and more secure communities.
