TACLOBAN CITY– The National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) Manila Office has found a new home at the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Headquarters in Mandaluyong City, marking a significant milestone for the Agency’s operations.
The move comes as a result of NMP being subsumed under the DMW by virtue of Republic Act 11641. The NMP Manila Office, formerly located in Intramuros, Manila, has now officially transferred to the Mezzanine Floor of the Blas F. Ople Building, which is situated at the intersection of Ortigas Avenue and EDSA, two of Metro Manila’s major thoroughfares.
The transfer is a significant development as the new location is strategically in close proximity to various government agencies that cater to the needs of Filipino seafarers. The relocation aims to bring NMP’s training programs closer to more seafarers in the Manila area, where a significant number of manning agencies and maritime higher education and training institutions are located.
Moreover, this transfer will facilitate closer collaboration with its mother agency, the DMW. With this move, the NMP hopes to further enhance its training programs and produce highly skilled and competent Filipino seafarers.
The NMP Manila Office encourages those who are interested to avail of the its courses to visit its new location or contact them through their email address, nmpmnl@yahoo.com, or cellphone numbers 0927-304-6588 and 0921-640-8096.
