Tacloban City – As one of the set of activities calendared for the 44th Founding Anniversary celebration of the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP), a Clean-up drive or Pintakasi was held last 22 April 2022 within the NMP Complex in Cabalawan.

 

The activity was actively participated by the employees of NMP, both the regular and Job-order workers, who were grouped and assigned to different areas covering the administration building, training and school building, trainee’s domiciliary, boat davit, staff houses, and other surrounding areas of NMP.

This undertaking aims not only to demonstrate and restore the spirit of Bayanihan between people, but more so to advocate and encourage individuals to be more environmentally aware and manage their garbage responsibly, help lessen the pollution and create a cleaner and healthier community. Moreover, during the Flag raising ceremony last 25 April 2022, Executive Director Joel B. Maglunsod said that the conduct of Pintakasi must be sustained, thus, he suggested that this be conducted regularly once a month.
