Tacloban City – The National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP), cognizant of the rise in new and advanced teaching techniques, took a proactive stance in carrying out personnel interventions by providing an Enhancement Teaching Course Program (ETCP) to its trainers on 12-15 December 2022 at the NMP Maritime Training Annex Building, Tacloban City. The program aimed at enhancing the trainers’ capabilities to be able to adopt the new teaching methodologies and approaches.

The activity also provided opportunity for NMP instructors to discuss and assess the knowledge and skills gaps that need to be addressed in order to better perform their assigned duties and responsibilities.

The program was facilitated by NMP’s seasoned guest instructor, Ariel R. Raynes, EdD. and attended by twenty (20) trainers. Among the topics discussed were: (1) understanding learners’ diversity; (2) use of digital applications and teaching strategies (Canva, Google Classroom); (3) enhancing communication strategies; (4) lesson planning; and (5) designing intended learning outcomes, teaching & learning activities and assessment tasks.
