Financial Literacy Orientation for Seafarers

Financial literacy is crucial in helping seafarers manage their income, savings, and investments, ensuring financial stability during and after their maritime careers.

In a celebration honoring Filipino seafarers, the evening was filled with vibrant competitions in dance, singing, and fun games. This event allowed seafarers to unwind, showcase their talents, and foster camaraderie among fellow trainees, all while appreciating the hard work and dedication of Filipino seafarers.
Maritime Friendly Games

Held at the NMP Complex, the event brought together participants from MARINA ROVIII, NMP, the Philippine National Police – Regional Maritime Unit, Philippine Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas, and the Philippine Ports Authority Eastern Leyte/Samar. Competitions in basketball, table tennis, and volleyball promoted sportsmanship, teamwork, and collaboration among different maritime stakeholders, reinforcing the spirit of unity in the maritime industry.
Anti-Piracy Awareness Training

The Anti-Piracy Awareness Training, conducted by CM Rommel O. Meneses, a seasoned NMP trainer, aimed to educate seafarers on effective measures to avoid, deter, or delay piracy attacks. Participants were introduced to strategies that reduce risks to both crew and vessel, equipping them with essential knowledge to respond to piracy threats and ensure their safety at sea.
Mental Health Awareness for Seafarers

Led by Dr. Minerva Peregrino-Molon, former Director of the Department of Health – Regional Office VIII, the discussion focused on the importance of mental well-being in the seafaring profession. Dr. Molon addressed common psychological challenges faced by seafarers and provided practical guidance on coping with the stresses of life at sea. The event highlighted the critical need for mental health support to help seafarers effectively manage the demands of their work environments.
