ACCEPTANCE MESSAGE

Ladies and gentlemen,

I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude and enthusiasm as I assume the helm as the new Executive Director of the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP). It is both an honor and a privilege to take on this responsibility, and I am genuinely delighted to become a part of the NMP family on this voyage.

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the remarkable stewardship of my predecessor, Deputy Executive Director Mayla N. Macadawan, who has steered this institution with dedication and vision. Under her leadership, we have charted a course of solid gains and remarkable achievements. I would also like to extend my gratitude and recognition to all previous Executive Directors who have navigated NMP over the years. Each has contributed their unique mark to the NMP's maritime legacy, and their collective efforts have shaped the NMP into what it is today. The foundations they laid during their tenure provide us with a sturdy anchor; we are standing on the decks they built, and we carry their maritime wisdom forward as we sail into the future.

I am fortunate to have inherited an institution that has already made significant headway in its mission to provide top-quality maritime education, training, and research. The hard work and commitment of our NMP personnel, the achievements of our Filipino seafarers, and the support of our maritime stakeholders have all contributed to this success.

As we weigh anchor and set sail, my commitment to you is clear: we will continue to navigate the uncharted waters to improve our services. The maritime industry is dynamic and ever-evolving, and we must adapt and grow with the changing tides. We will continue enhancing our programs, facilities, and resources to ensure that NMP remains the guiding lighthouse for our Filipino seafarers seeking maritime excellence.

Furthermore, I want to emphasize the importance of unwavering dedication to our roles as public servants. It is our responsibility to serve with efficiency and honesty, knowing that the work we do directly shapes the course of countless seafarers and our maritime nation. Let us continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

However, success cannot be achieved in isolation. It requires unity and cooperation. Today, I call upon all members of the NMP family—our staff, partners, and stakeholders—to come together with a shared sense of purpose. Our strength lies in our unity, and our achievements will be more meaningful when we work collaboratively toward our common goals.

In closing, I want to express my gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in me by President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos, Jr., the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and all of you as the new Executive Director of NMP. Together, we will navigate the challenges, seize the opportunities, and continue to write the success story of the National Maritime Polytechnic.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you as we embark on this journey of progress and excellence.

Thank you and let us begin this exciting journey with enthusiasm and determination.

VICTOR A. DEL ROSARIO
NMP Executive Director III
