TACLOBAN CITY – The National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) recently concluded a series of collaborative initiatives that are set to shape NMP’s course in CY 2024-2028.

On 05-06 October 2023, NMP conducted insightful Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with a diverse array of esteemed maritime stakeholders, bridging the gap between private and government sectors. These sessions provided a fertile ground for industry stakeholders to share their valuable insights, facilitating an inclusive and informed dialogue on vital industry perspectives. The discussions garnered inputs crucial for the development of NMP’s Strategic Planning for CY 2024-2028, ensuring its alignment with the Philippine Maritime Development Plan and the dynamic needs of the industry.

Furthermore, on 10-12 October 2023, as part of its benchmarking activities, NMP visited prominent Maritime Higher Education and Training Institutions (MHETIs). This activity served as a catalyst for the exchange of best practices in critical areas, including the integration of cutting-edge technologies, curriculum development, maritime research, marketing & promotions, human capital advancement and information and communications technology (ICT). This endeavor was not only a learning experience but also an opportunity to explore potential collaborative ventures that will foster collective growth and progress within the maritime industry.

With these proactive engagements, NMP is poised to drive transformative change, amplifying its pivotal role in supporting the maritime industry and empowering the Filipino seafarers. With its sights firmly set on the future, the NMP continues to foster collaborative strategies, ensuring its continued transformation process and systems optimization and making substantial contribution to the sustainable development of the maritime sector.
