TACLOBAN CITY – In celebration of National Maritime Week 2024, the National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) conducted a coastal cleanup drive this morning along its shoreline. Dubbed the “Beachurero Program,” this long-standing initiative reinforces NMP’s commitment to cleaner coastlines and marine preservation.
Aligned with the agency’s mission to promote environmental stewardship, NMP ensures its trainees are not only technically skilled but also aware of their role in protecting marine ecosystems. Additionally, NMP offers training on the Consolidated MARPOL, an IMO convention designed to prevent ship pollution, highlighting the crucial role of seafarers in minimizing marine pollution.
NMP continues to lead the way in marine environmental protection, ensuring future generations of seafarers are responsible stewards of the seas.
