TACLOBAN CITY, LEYTE – The National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) recently conducted a successful induction of the inaugural interim officers of its Alumni Association. Elected during the first organizational meeting on 05 December 2023, the officers officially took an oath of office on 15 December 2023 at the Training Annex Building, Tacloban City, coinciding with NMP’s Employee Relations Program (ERP).
The establishment of the NMP Alumni Association signifies a profound milestone for the institution, with NMP Executive Director Victor A. Del Rosario playing an instrumental role in championing its creation. In his message, ED Del Rosario stated, “NMP Alumni play a vital role as partners, promoters, ambassadors, and marketers in the development of our institution. As alumni, you serve as our best critics and advisers. Your deep understanding of the Agency’s challenges, successes, and accomplishments offers invaluable insights and cooperation.”

In his statement, NMP Alumni President Capt. Chito A. Go, expressed his gratitude and vision for the association. “It is an honor to lead our esteemed alumni as we embark on this journey together. The NMP Alumni Association is not just an organization; it’s a family. Let us work hand in hand to preserve our maritime heritage, foster camaraderie, and contribute to the growth of our Alma Mater.”
The NMP Alumni Association is poised to initiate several activities, including the formulation of its Constitution and By-laws, facilitation of registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and conceptualization of projects that mutually benefit the Association and the NMP.
The activity signifies the beginning of joint efforts between NMP and the association, laying the foundation for meaningful initiatives, shared accomplishment and collective progress.
