TACLOBAN CITY – The National Maritime Polytechnic (NMP) signs agreement with the Maritime Industry Authority Regional Office 8 (MARINA RO8) today, 28 September 2023, at the NMP Conference Room strengthening the collaborative effort in upgrading the competencies of the core providers of government maritime service.

The MOA outlines the free offering of NMP Basic Training course to MARINA RO8 personnel in view of the need to capacitate its employees on personal life saving techniques, thereby understanding and appreciating the nature of work of its seafarer stakeholders.

Furthermore, MARINA RO8 shall allow NMP instructors and other personnel to join as observers in surveys conducted onboard ships and in onsite shipyard facility inspection within the region.

This initiative serves as a learning opportunity for NMP personnel in expanding their knowledge in these fields consistent with the learning and development program of the agency

The forging of the MOA symbolizes the shared goal in building a sustainable maritime industry and was witnessed by other officials of the two agencies.
